Much about nothing....
this background and template are ugly. i need to change it, but right now i'm busy and lazy. i think i'll start updating this blog again. maybe i should link it to my tumblr.
random update - i started this blog after i graduated from university in 2007 when i was in a funk because i thought i had been rejected from medical school. fast forward 3 plus years later, starting in june i will be in my last year of medical school (almost a doctor yayyyyyyyyyy lol) and now i'm in this weird place again. i wouldn't say it is a funk, but i know i'm an adult, but i don't really feel like one. all my other friends chose professional careers that only took 4 years above a bachelors degree. i had to be the oddball and go for tertiary medicine. i'll explain that last statement later with a picture hopefully.
i'm packing to move. i hope it isn't hot in houston today. my goodness it isn't even summer and the humidity is already killing me.
ok for tertiary care - i can't find a picture, but to explain...
1) primary care are people like general practitioners (family medicine), general pediatricians, general internists and psychiatry
2) secondary care physicians are specialists like nephrologist (kidney doctor), cardiologist, rheumatologist, infectious disease specialist, and radiologist - all except radiology are specializations within the umbrella of internal medicine.
3) tertiary care are things like plastic surgery, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, transplant surgery, oral-facial-maxiallary surgery (usually a dentist)

so essentially, you don't really want to have to make it to tertiary care because it means you're very very sick. i suppose that is enough of my rambling for now.
